Serial Bond with Balloon
A bond issue that combines features of a serial bond and a term bond. A serial bond matures gradually over the course of the life of the issue, while a term bond matures all at once. A serial bond with balloon has certain parts that mature gradually, but the majority of the issue matures at the end of the issue. This majority of the issue is called the balloon. See also: Balloon maturity.
