Selling Out

Selling Out
A derogatory term for compromising one's personal beliefs or demographic group for more money or some other gain. For example, a person who believes that corporations are harmful to society but goes to work as a corporate lawyer may be said to sell out. Selling out is a charge often leveled by critics of modern capitalism.
