Securities Transfer Association
A professional organization of transfer agents in the United States and Canada. Transfer agents are responsible for smooth transfers in securities (e.g. issuing certificates reflecting changes in ownership); the STA is thus charged with providing a forum for the exchange of information that may prove useful to this business. For example, it publishes books and holds educational events for transfer agents. It also sponsors the Medallion Stamp Program, which seeks to protect investors from securities fraud. It is based in Hazlet, New Jersey.

Securities Transfer Association (STA)
