SEK
The ISO 4217 currency code for the Swedish Krona.

SEK
ISO 4217 code for the Swedish krona. It was introduced in 1873 when it replaced the former currency at the beginning of the Scandinavian Monetary Union. After World War I, the Monetary Union ended, but the Swedish government kept the krona as its own currency. In 1995, Sweden committed to joining the eurozone at an indeterminate date. However, a 2003 referendum rejected this course of action.
