Research and development limited partnership A partnership whose investors put up money to finance new product R&D in return for profits generated from the products. Research and Development Limited Partnership A limited partnership where limited partners (who have no management authority) provide capital for the general partner (who manages the venture) to conduct research and development activities for a new product, or perhaps new uses for an old product.
