Recall Election

An election to decide whether or not to retain a political office holder. In general, a recall election occurs when a sufficient number of voters petition for it. If a majority in the recall election vote to retain the incumbent, the status quo continues. If a majority vote not to retain, the incumbent is said to be recalled.
