Regional Fund

    0.01 sec.
Regional fund
A mutual fund that invests in a specific geographic area overseas, such as Asia or Europe.

Regional Fund
A mutual fund that invests predominantly or exclusively in the securities of a single region of the globe. While a regional fund may be diversified in other ways ? for instance, it may hold both stocks and bonds ? it selects securities based upon the countries in which they trade or are issued. Regional funds usually carry less political risk than single-country funds. Some analysts argue that, in an age of globalization, there is little difference between regional, single-country, and global funds, but others dispute that.
