RUR

ISO 4217 code for the Russian ruble prior to 1998. The code was adopted in 1992 after the fall of the Soviet Union. Legally, the currency was identical to the old Soviet ruble, though for the most part it only circulated in Russia. The ruble was redenominated at a ratio of 1,000 to one in 1998, at which point it received the new code "RUB."
