Quote-Only Period A period of time during which relevant parties give quotes for an IPO, but during which shares are not traded. That is, interested parties state for how much they would be willing to buy or sell shares, but they do not actually do so. The quote-only period lasts for a few minutes and is intended to reduce some of the volatility inherent to an IPO. Want to thank TFD for its existence?
