Quota Sample
In focus groups, the predetermination to include only a certain number of persons from stated demographic groups. The quota sample system allows focus groups to be representative while keeping them manageable. For example, a quota sample may limit itself to three persons under 25, three between 25 and 50, and three over 50.

It was almost as bad as the Dewey over Truman fiasco 60 years earlier, a result that led survey organizations like Gallup both to move from quota sampling to probability selection and to extend polling to later in the campaign.
We used a quota sampling strategy to select informants of different age and sex, from rural and urban areas.
Participants: One hundred children without CP between 7 and 15 years old were recruited by quota sampling, with a minimum of 10 children in each year of age.
