Pur Autre Vie
Describing a right to a property that lasts as long as the life of a second party. For example, a man may have pur autre vie right to property if he is legally able to live there as long as his wife lives. The term is French, meaning "for another's life."

Literally, “for another life.” An ownership interest in land,but only for a period of time measured by the lifetime of a named person.
