Processing Delay

Time a selling firm takes to record receipt of a payment and deposit it.

Processing Delay

The time between the receipt of an order or payment and the appropriate response. Processing delay may involve the time between receiving a payment and depositing it in the bank or between a customer requesting a product and that product being shipped. The increase in electronic communication has greatly reduced processing delay for many transactions.
