Political Violence
A violent act intended to make a statement or achieve some end. Political violence encompasses terrorism (which is carried out by a non-government group), war (which usually is carried out by a government) and other forms of civil strife. Political violence may render it difficult to conduct business in the area in which it occurs. See also: Political risk.
