Christopher Pissarides
A Cypriot economist who was born in 1948. He is noted for his work in labor markets and for helping to develop the matching function, which represents the relationship between the number of unemployed persons and the number of jobs available over time. Pissarides won the Nobel Prize for economics in 2010.
