Peer-to-Peer

Peer-to-Peer
A loan to a start-up or other new company from a source other than a financial institution. A lender often charges high interest in a P to P loan. This provides the borrower with financing needed to maintain operations until it becomes profitable. See also: Angel investor.

Nearly 700,000 Swedes regularly used peer-to-peer file sharing programmes at the beginning of 2008, 38 percent of young men engaging in such often illegal Internet activities, according to a study published Wednesday.
It can also be used to reduce the use of less desirable traffic, such as peer-to-peer traffic.
Projects of one to four months in participating countries include a shadowing program, work placement, attendance at a conference, participation in a short course, or peer-to-peer learning.
