A stock price that is too high or too low in comparison with similar-quality stocks in the same industry, according to its price/earnings ratio.

Out of Line

Describing a stock with a price-earnings ratio significantly above or below that of other stocks in the same industry or other group. This may lead to larger than usual differences in price.
