Omnibus Foreign Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988
Legislation in the United States requiring the president to investigate countries with more than a 10% trade surplus with respect to the U.S. It further calls for the president to take steps to reduce that trade surplus by 10%. The Act was intended to promote American exports.
