Nominal Quotation

Nominal quotation
Used in the context of general equities. Bid and offer prices given by a market maker for the purpose of valuation, not as an invitation to trade; must be specifically identified as such by prefixing the quotes FYI (for your information) or FVO (for valuation only).

Nominal Quote
A quote for the price of a security in which the price is subject to change. Market makers occasionally make nominal quotes for valuation purposes only. It may also refer to a quote that is not an offer, but simply supplied for informational purposes.
