Net tangible assets per share All of a company's assets except patents, trademarks, and other intangible assets minus all liabilities and the par value of preferred stock, divided by the number of shares outstanding. Net Tangible Assets Per Share One expression of the underlying value of a stock. That is, it is a statement of the value of the company's total assets minus the value of its total liabilities and the value of its intangible assets, such as patents and goodwill. This quantity is divided by the number of shares outstanding. One way of thinking about the net tangible assets per share is that it is the underlying value of a stock, not the value dictated by the supply and demand of share or its market capitalization. Corporate raiders use this measure looking for undervalued stocks. See also: Net asset value.
