Net Short

    0.01 sec.
Net Short
Describing a situation where one has more short positions than long positions on a security or derivative. To give a very simple example, if one buys nine futures contracts on corn, and then sells short 10 identical futures contracts on corn, one has a net short position on corn. When one has a net short position, one profits when the price for the underlying position declines.
