Net realized capital gains per share Capital gains realized by an investment company minus any capital losses divided by the total number of the company's outstanding shares. Net Realized Capital Gains Per Share The long-term capital gains of an investment company less its long-term capital losses, divided by the number of shares outstanding. For example, in a mutual fund, the net realized capital gain per share is what the holder of a single share will receive from dividends and capital appreciation on all the securities held by the mutual fund after the fund has accounted for all losses.
