Net proceeds Net Proceeds The money one receives from a transaction after all commissions, fees, and related expenses. For example, if one sells his/her house, the net proceeds are the funds one receives from the buyer after all realtor's fees and other closing costs. Net proceeds differ from profit because they do not account for what one originally paid for (in this instance, the house).
