National Federation of Independent Businesses
A trade organization for small businesses in the United States. It lobbies the government for favorable legislation. It is especially known for seeking tort reform and allowing small businesses to pool resources in order to create more affordable health care for employees. It also seeks the repeal of the federal estate tax. Members of the NFIB vote to decide what issues to lobby. It was established in California in 1943 and is based in Nashville, Tennessee.
