Managed Futures Account

Also found in: Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Managed Futures Account
An investment company that invests in government securities, futures contracts, and options on futures contracts. Managed futures accounts operate much like a mutual fund, specifically because they are both actively managed. Managed futures accounts tend to be less volatile than other investment vehicles. Managed futures accounts use technical analysis in most of their management practices. In the United States, they are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the National Futures Association.
