Maggie Mae

Common name for Mortgage Guaranty Insurance Corporation (www.mgic.com).It is the leading provider of private mortgage insurance for loans in excess of an 80 percent loan to value. It also purchases, pools, and then sells interests in sub- and no-performing mortgage debt, and it purchases and services charged-off consumer debt such as unpaid credit cards and Chapter 13 bankruptcies.
