The largest of Spain's four stock exchanges.

Madrid Stock Exchange
The largest stock exchange in Spain, founded in 1831. It attracts considerably more foreign investment than the other three exchanges. It trades in equity shares and convertible bonds, as well as sovereign and corporate bonds and other fixed income securities. More than 1,000 domestic and foreign companies trade their shares on the Madrid Stock Exchange. Ninety percent of all transactions, including all fixed-income trading, occurs electronically.
