An option that has been accepted for trading on an exchange.

Listed Option
An option that is traded on an exchange. Listed options must conform to exchange rules; for example, they must conform to one of two types: American style and European style. Over-the-counter options are not subject to these restrictions, but they are less liquid than listed options.

  Called listed options, these options are traded on established exchanges, just like stocks.
Though short equity options can be assigned any time prior to expiration, if the stock price is above the strike price at expiration, with a standard listed option, your call option will likely be assigned and you are obligated to sell your stock at the strike price.
At the time the QCC rules were written, listed options were available only at standardized maturity dates and strike price intervals (generally, intervals of $5).
