Late Tape
A situation in which trading volume for a security is so heavy that the ticker publicly announcing quotes is delayed by a significant amount of time, usually one or two minutes. This was fairly common before electronic tickers were used, but has largely become a non-issue since electronic tickers announce prices in real time.
