Julliard v. Greenman

A U.S. Supreme Court decision holding that fiat currency issued during the U.S. Civil War was legal tender and had to be accepted as payment. That is, the court held that a contract requiring a certain number of dollars in payment was satisfied by the payment of that number of dollars, even if the value of the dollar declined in the meantime. The case was decided in 1885.
