Joint Committee for Investment and Trade Also called a JCIT. A standing committee formed by two or more governments to discuss matters of international trade between the countries represented. A JCIT may be formed in anticipation of a free trade agreement. The United States formed JCITs with Israel before the U.S.-Israel Free Trade Agreement and with Mexico before NAFTA.
