JIBOR Jakarta Interbank Offer Rate. The interest rate participating banks offer to other banks for loans to each other. JIBOR may be used as a benchmark for short-term interest rates in Asia. It may also be used in other transactions, such as swaps. For example, an interest rate swap may give the floating rate as "JIBOR +/- X base points." See also: LIBOR, EURIBOR.
