The ISO 4217 currency code for the Jordanian Dinar.

JOD
ISO 4217 code for the Jordanian dinar. It was introduced in 1949, replacing the Palestinian pound. It has been pegged to Special Drawing Rights since 1995, but in practice it is more or less pegged to the U.S. dollar. In addition to circulating in Jordan, the dinar is used in the West Bank along with the Israeli new sheqel.
