Irish Budget 2010 A government budget enacted in Ireland noted for its tax increases and spending cuts. This budget cut some 4 billion euros from Ireland's deficit, in part by controversially cutting welfare programs. These policies, considered to be austerity measures, were enacted in response to Ireland's sovereign debt problems resulting from the financial crisis that began in 2008.
