A committee within a brokerage firm that conducts research and makes recommendations on the firm's stated investment strategy.

Investment Strategy Committee
A group in a brokerage that researches and reports to both the firm and the firm's clients on market trends and how they affect the firm's investment philosophy. The investment strategy committee advises clients on how much capital to invest in different types of securities; it may also identify industries that the committee believes are particularly bullish or bearish. The firm's chief economist and research director are usually members of the investment strategy committee.
