Peruvian Inti

The former currency of Peru. It was introduced in 1985, replacing the Peruvian sol at a ratio of 1,000 sol to one inti. Although it was intended to reduce the sol's high inflation rate, the inti suffered from hyperinflation as well. The new sol replaced the inti in 1991.
