Intermediate trend General movement in price data that lasts from three weeks to six months. Intermediate Trend In technical analysis, a security's likely performance over a certain period of time, usually a few weeks to six months. Analysts look for cyclical behavior in a security to account for an intermediate trend; that is, if a long-term bull market is observed, but with a fairly consistent series of reactions and rallies every few weeks, an analyst might view the intermediate trend as moderately bearish without detracting from the long-term bullish trend.
