Intergovernmental Authority on Drought and Development

Also called IGADD. A former organization of countries in East Africa. IGADD received and managed international support for various natural disasters (notably drought) that plagued the area in the 1970s and 1980s. IGADD was established in 1986 and dissolved in 1996. It was succeeded by the Intergovernmental Authority on Development.
