In-line
Used in the context of general equities. (1) An order or market in a specific security within the inside market; 2) any announcement (earnings) that adheres closely to Wall Street analysts' expectations.

In-Line
A situation or announcement that meets or nears the expectations of most analysts. For example, a company's earnings are said to be in-line when there are no surprises in the earnings report.
