Immediate settlement

Delivery and settlement of securities immediately upon execution of the trade.

A situation in which the settlement of a trade occurs in the shortest possible amount of time. Immediate settlement usually describes a settlement date of five days following the trade date, but it may occur sooner. See also: Next day, Regular-Way trade.
