IFC

International Finance Corporation
A division of the World Bank that provides loans for private companies and projects in developing countries. Founded in 1956, it seeks to promote private-sector investment in the developing world. It charges market interest rates, and its loans do not have government guarantees. See also: International Monetary Fund.
