Henry Kravis
An American private equity investor. He began his career at Bear Stearns, where he engineered a number of leveraged buyouts. In the 1970s, started his own firm. He was born in 1944 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Menschel, hedge-fund mogul Leon Black, and Marie-Josée Kravis, the wife of financier Henry Kravis, on its board.
Some of private equity's most powerful tycoons, including Blackstone founder Steve Schwarzman, KKR's Henry Kravis and David Rubenstein of Carlyle Group, flew to Dubai last week to lure investors from the cash-rich Gulf states, it emerged this weekend.
Moving forward with a public listing will allow KKR to do what we do best -- grow companies around the world and produce solid returns for our investors from a larger platform and a deeper capital base," Henry Kravis and George Roberts, co-founders of KKR, said in a statement.
