Guarantee of Signature
A statement issued by a bank or other financial institution stating that the signature on an associated legal document is authentic. The guarantee of signature is attached to the main document, and is used to provide protection against risk of fraud. Some documents, notably statements of transfer of stocks or bonds, require a guarantee of signature to be valid.

A certificate that verifies the authenticity of the signature of the registered owner of a bond or stock. The guarantee of signature is attached to the assignment of a bond or stock certificate.
