Bank of Scotland

A major commercial bank in Scotland. It was established in 1695 and was the first bank in Europe to issue bank notes. In 1959, it became the first British bank to install a computer to process accounts. In 2009, it was acquired by Lloyds. It maintains the right to issue pound sterling notes, though it issues the Scottish version.
