Global Macro Strategy

    0.01 sec.
Global Macro Strategy
A hedge fund strategy in which the money manager makes investment decisions based on the macroeconomic or political conditions in a country. For example, if a government is contemplating major health care legislation and one hedge fund manager believes this will help insurance companies, the manager will likely invest in those insurance companies. However, if another manager believes that the legislation will harm insurance companies, he/she will likely short sell those same insurance stocks.
