GB

The two-character ISO 3166 country code for UNITED KINGDOM.

GB

1. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This is the code used in international transactions to and from British bank accounts.

2. ISO 3166-2 geocode for the United Kingdom. This is used as an international standard for shipping to the United Kingdom. Most British subdivisions have their own codes with the prefix "GB." For example, the code for the Unitary Authority of Brighton and Hove is ISO 3166-2:GB-BNH.

Today, many of the world's largest Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet networks depend on Force10 Networks.
For quick, effective flow of information, the desktop and rackmount gigabit switches provide data transfer rates at up to 1000Mbps on each port, enabling large amounts of bandwidth for higher capabilities.
Vitesse's Gigabit Ethernet wireless broadband gateway solution combines Intoto's iGateway RGS Standard -- a complete software platform with network access, wireless LAN security, and firewall; and Ralink Technology's wireless LAN chipset, the RT2600 which supports all standard-based features and requirements such as security, quality of service and international regulatory, thus providing end-users with higher performance than legacy devices.
The Force10 TeraScale E600 connects the data center via 10 Gigabit Ethernet connections to True's other facilities, Internet Exchanges and global network providers.
With the growing adoption of servers that generate traffic flow speeds of greater than one Gigabit per second and the emergence of 10 Gigabit Ethernet servers, network managers increasingly need higher speed connectivity to ensure zero packet loss.
According to Dell'Oro Group, Force10 was also the second largest modular 10 Gigabit Ethernet vendor in the industry for the fourth quarter of 2005, marking the second consecutive quarter Force10 held the position.
As system level density continues to increase, the effectiveness of 10 Gigabit Ethernet for upstream connectivity decreases, creating the potential for network bottlenecks," said Goergen, one of the drafters of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet standard and a key driver of the 100 Gigabit LAN/WAN movement in the IEEE and the Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF).
Force10 Networks increased its 10 Gigabit Ethernet port shipments by 280 percent in the third quarter of 2005 over the same period a year ago, growing at a rate nearly twice as fast as its nearest competitor, according to Dell'Oro Group's most recent Ethernet switch survey.
Force10 Networks today announced that it has increased the 10 Gigabit Ethernet density of the TeraScale E-Series to an industry-leading 224 ports per system, providing the performance scalability that enables enterprises to cost effectively deploy 10 Gigabit Ethernet as the foundation of their next-generation data centers.
While the 10 Gigabit Ethernet market is still in its early stages of growth, with projections estimating that it will more than double in 2006 to $1.
