1. ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. This is the code used in international transactions to and from British bank accounts.

2. ISO 3166-2 geocode for the United Kingdom. This is used as an international standard for shipping to the United Kingdom. Most British subdivisions have their own codes with the prefix "GB." For example, the code for the Unitary Authority of Brighton and Hove is ISO 3166-2:GB-BNH.
