Fund Supermarket
A brokerage that provides investors access to many mutual funds from various fund families. This permits greater variety in their portfolios while allowing the investors to receive all their statements from a single source. Fund supermarkets also have the potential for deep customer bases because of the sheer variety of funds offered.

fund supermarket
A financial institution that offers a large number of mutual funds from many different sponsors. The term is often used to refer to brokerage firms that offer customers a very large number of no-load funds.

net (Staff Writer) Skandia International said it has launched a range of fund and portfolio planning tools on its offshore fund platforms.
That is the view of Barclay's Capital director Frank Gerhard whose company is a major player in the regional hedge fund market and is in the process of launching a Sharia-compliant hedge fund platform along with Sharia Capital.
Fund platforms, which allow them to purchase a wide range of funds cheaply and easily, took about 85% of unit trust/OEIC (open-ended investment company) sales in 2005/6.
