Piece of information (fundamental or technical) leading one to believe a stock will move in a certain manner.

Fresh Signal
In fundamental analysis and technical analysis, an indicator. A fresh signal is a sign that a security will behave in a certain way, and the term especially applies if it indicates that the security's trend is about to change from positive to negative or vice versa. Before a fresh signal is taken too seriously, it needs confirmation, or a separate indicator showing that the fresh signal is part of a trend, rather than an anomaly.
