Forwarder
(redirected from Freight Brokers)

Also found in: Dictionary/thesaurus, Encyclopedia, Wikipedia 0.01 sec.
Forwarder
Acts as a travel agent for cargo. A forwarder specializes in arranging the transport and completing required shipping documentation. Some are affiliated with NVOCC services. In the United States they are licensed by the Federal Maritime Commission.

Forwarder
A company that arranges transportation services for importers and exporters. A forwarder prepares the appropriate documents, contacts and arranges services from the companies that actually transport goods, and handles insurance matters. In other words, a forwarder handles the large number of details associated with international transportation so the importer and/or exporter do not have to do so themselves. It is also called a freight forwarder. See also: NVOCC.
