Frankfurt Stock Exchange The largest of Germany's eight securities exchanges, operated by Deutsche Borse AS. Frankfurt Stock Exchange One of the oldest and most prominent stock exchanges in the world. Tracing its origins to the ninth century, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange was one of the first exchanges to trade in currencies as early as the late 16th century. Today, a sizable percentage of European trading and upwards of 90% of German trading occurs on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. It is owned and operated by Deutsche Borse.
