Foreign Plan

A retirement plan created by a person in Canada intended to benefit someone who does not live in Canada. The creator of the retirement plan may also be the beneficiary if he/she intends to retire outside Canada, or the beneficiary may be someone different. Foreign plans are known for the complexities they create on Canadian tax returns.
